You know how your website is handled here. If you know a business owner whose site is slow, neglected, or held together with hope — send them our way. They get their first month free on any plan. Once they've been with us 90 days, you get $150 as credit on your account, or a check if you'd rather.
How it works
- Tell them about us — and tell us about them, whichever order you like. Email josh@dependentmedia.com, mention it to the person you already talk to here, or just have your friend say your name when they reach out.
- They sign up. Their first month is free on any of our hosting + care plans. We note who sent them, so nothing depends on anyone's memory.
- 90 days later, you get $150. Credit on your next invoices by default — most people cover several months of hosting with one referral — or a check if you prefer. We don't make you ask twice.
The fine print, kept short
- Your friend needs to be a new client on a monthly plan — hosting with website care, the way we take on everyone new.
- The free month covers the plan, not a website build. If your friend needs a new site designed, we quote that like any project. Moving their existing website over to us is free, as always.
- The $150 pays after their 90th day as a client. That's the whole condition.
- No limit. Refer three businesses in a year and that's $450 — we'll cheerfully pay it.
- Referring someone never obligates them. If we're not the right fit, we'll say so and part friends.
Who's a good fit?
Small businesses and practices that want their website handled — hosting, updates, security, and a real person to email — without hiring anyone or learning anything. Colleagues, patients, the business next door. If they've ever said "I have no idea who even runs our website," that's the one.
